Re: Intel to remove legacy BIOS from UEFI by 2020, will industry follow?

Any new progress on this topic? Since I saw a lot of news from social media still avocating Intel is going to kill CSM by 2020.

Re: UEFI video game - Pong.

Haha... That should not be difficult, find some C source from GitHub and provide a uefi abstraction layer should work.

Re: UEFI is safer than BIOS

Vote yes since UEFI has standard firmware interface and removes those tricky BIOS implementations and SMI. Just like open-source software, it is easy to be hacked at the beginning but would evolve rapidly and eventually will be safer.

The information above is helpful. But the puzzle is still there... We can interpret CSM as "Continually Survived Monster" now.
Thats a good one. :D

Neat and clever. Good way to glance the whole UEFI history.

Re: Intel to remove legacy BIOS from UEFI by 2020, will industry follow?

I really doubt industry will follow since this is a weak constraint, providing legacy support will help to win customers whose OS heavily relies on legacy BIOS. I bet OEM with in-house UEFI will not follow since adding legacy support cost them almost nothing.

Re: Finally... Intel is going to sell WR after 9 yrs.

Hmm... Hope this won’t change the original development model, or else it will lead to waste of effort.
